All The Glitz & Glamour Of The 2018 TV Week Logies

The 2018 TV Week Logies are underway with The Block taking out the first award of the night for best Reality TV program.

The event is being held at The Star casino on the Gold Coast - after shifting north from Melbourne.

Sparkly dresses and long trains are here in abundance, as Australia's TV elite rub shoulders and celebrate another year gone bye.

Jessica Marais picked up an award early, despite being absent on the night due to 'numerous health issues'.

Ray Meagher won a silver Logie award for Most Popular Actor on Home and Away - but it was his speech that put silence over the crowd.

Meagher took time to pay tribute to his late co-star Cornelia Frances who passed away after a long battle with cancer last month.

"If there's a heaven up there somewhere, I believe she has propped up there with a glass of champagne," he later told media.

The Living Room also bought a sentimental note to their speech, celebrating their win and celebrating their co-host Barry du Boi who has been battling cancer.

The quartet were excited to stand on stage together to accept the award - something they were not sure they would all be there for just 12 months ago.

Julia Morris's musical interlude will definitely front the highlights reel, with Julia just being Julia.

Most Outstanding Supporting Actor winner Hazem Shammas dedicated part of his speech to his newborn premature son and all the NICU nurses currently keeping him healthy and alive.

Admitting he was a tad distracted while accepting his award.

The most Outstanding Supporting Actress went to Jacqueline McKenzie from Stan's Romper Stomper, with a less than traditional speech.

Now we're getting towards the end of the evening.

Hugo Weaving took out the Most Outstanding Actor, meanwhile, Pamela Rabe continues Wentworth's strong run of awards.

Last year’s winner Samuel Johnson presented the award to Grant Denyer – and allegedly the Gold Logie has taken more selfies and attended more charity events than any other Gold Logie.

He also touched on the White Paper Rose that is currently on sale as Sam strives to raise money for charity in memory of his late sister, Connie.
