Cosby Show Actor Shamed For Working Regular Job
The internet has come out droves to slam the shaming of an actor who used to be on The Cosby Show and is now a cashier at a grocery store.
The story goes like this: a shopper recognised Geoffery Owens working the till at Trader Joe’s and took a few pictures.
It's unknown if he even knew she took them.

She sold the pictures, saying she was "shocked" to see him working there, looking the way he did.
"It made me feel really bad. I was like, 'Wow, all those years of doing the show and you ended up as a cashier'."
"I would have thought after The Cosby Show he would maybe be doing something different."
Owens, 57, played Sondra Huxtable's doctor husband Elvin Tibideaux on the final five seasons of The Cosby Show.
He also appeared in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and That's So Raven and, in 2017, an episode of Lucifer.
The internet, however, have gone in on the so-called story, emphatically saying that no one should ever feel shame for working and in a sign of support for Owens, tweeted their own examples of working unglam service jobs.
So, 26 years after one TV job, this guy looks differently (shock) and is earning an honest living at a Trader Joe’s. The people taking his picture and passing judgment are trash. https://t.co/OUbOORk6jW

Almost every single person I have met who has pursued a career in the arts has had or currently has a day job. I sold clothes. What did you do? If you are a person who judges or looks down on someone who works in a service job we can't be friends.

Rightly so. I firmly believe everyone should work in service as a lesson in humility. Waitressing (especially in Hollywood) is a lesson in Grace. I'll never understand how anyone can look down on someone for being of service.

Thank you. The shaming around Geoffrey Owens working an honest job (that who knows - he may be doing because he likes being around people!) is making me absolutely insane.

No one should EVER have to feel shame for working. ❤️
Also, the culture of taking secret pictures of people with the express purpose of selling them and shaming them is so fucking gross. GO is making his $ more honestly than the lady who sold those pics and her story.
