The sun doesn’t look like setting on the career on Seal anytime soon after serving it up to a loyal group of diehard fans in intimate mode at the Entertainment Centre proving yet again that he still has it. It would be quite easy for him to drop his bundle after a rather public marriage breakdown and now separation but that looked the furthest from his mind as he took Adelaide fans through his ninety minute set covering the hits as well as gems from his new album Soul 2 and in his own words it’s time to “live, laugh, cry and dance as two years has been far too long.”

Adelaide, a part of a five date tour wrapped in a TV show recording schedule for The Voice was “a pain in the arse” with Seal determined to do something about the tour schedule next time whatever that means. With the lights dimmed intro music blazed through the PA before kicking things off with If I’m Any Closer from 2010s Commitment album followed closely by Human Beings. The set was a bit of a slow mover until Prayer For The Dying where things really started to pick up and the crowd were along for the ride. It isn’t until to see Seal live in concert where you can appreciate his set list which is abundant in riches with so many great songs. Just Like Before, Killer and Love Still Remains were all sensation.

The Womack & Womack penned Love TKO was one of many great soul moments in the set before Seal made the comment that the last time he played the next song was a month and a half ago, which seems ironic but would let the crowd work it out. Yes, Let’s Stay Together seemed like a very subtle dig at his soon to be ex-wife and really sparked the emotion in him. One lady yelled out “I won’t leave you” prompting a reply from Seal “I won’t leave you too” and even looked he wanted to say more but pushed the stop button before going too far.

State Of Grace and Colour from the Human Beings album was a trip down memory lane before firing up the crowd again with an awesome version of My Vision getting most out of their chairs. By now Seal had a throng of women at the front of the stage dancing and hanging off every word from Seal. If he was ever worried about trying to pick up and move on with life it seemed like by their reaction of these ladies he won’t have to much of a problem in that area. One was ballsy enough to steal his towel prompting a response “there are laws hear against that sort of thing”.

The show really kicked up a notch with The Beginning and Whirlpool going down a treat. The highlight for me was Kiss From A Rose. Wow! This is one of those songs I can never tire of hearing and was epic beyond all proportions. Seal tore up the stage on The Right Life before sending the crowd in to a melt down on Crazy – in short brilliant!

Returning for an encore of I’ll Be Around and Secret (inspired by the birth of his daughter) were just superb. Playing one more for the road Amazing was exactly that and a perfect way to remember a great show. Let’s hope that Seal doesn’t forget Adelaide next time even though a bigger crowd wasn’t on hand to witness this event.
