Cancer Council SA

Bowel cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in Australia and in many cases displays no symptoms. But we have seen survival rates improve over the past 20 years due to improvements in cancer prevention, screening and treatment.

Right across June, Cruise1323 and Cancer Council are encouraging listeners to get educated and get tested.

There are areas within our South Australian community where participation in the national program is really low and we are committed to trying to improve this situation.

The good news?  To get tested is free, easy to do and painless, and up to 90% of bowel cancers can be treated effectively if found early.

The Cancer Council recommends all Australians over the age of 50 undertake a bowel cancer screening test every two years- before symptoms appear.
