MEET THE ADELAIDE NEWSROOM

GLENN DANIEL
ARN Group News Director

Glenn oversees the News operation in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide for the Australian Radio Network. He combines the senior management role with writing, editing and presenting news for stations across the network.

Glenn began his career at 2WS in 1982 where he spent 6 years. He’s been News Director of 2SM, 2DAY-FM, and Triple-M Sydney before returning to the Australian Radio Network in 1998.

He’s covered numerous Olympic and Commonwealth Games, Wimbledon, Federal and State Elections and won Commercial Radio Australia’s Best News Presenter in 2002 and 2003.

ALAN BASKIN
Breakfast Newsreader Cruise1323

Alan was a founding staff member at Sydney's 2WS (now WSFM) in 1978, after starting in radio in New Zealand in the early 1970's. He then worked at Sydney station 2UE for several years, before moving to 2GB, serving as News Director for a number of years.

Alan spent a year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as a consultant setting up a national talk radio network, before returning to Australia and working on SBS World News. He returned to radio with the Australian Radio Network in Adelaide.

 

TAMRA MERCIECA

Tamra has worked in radio right around the country, from Berri to Townsville, then Canberra, then onto Melbourne and Adelaide.
 
When she isn’t doing news, Tamra enjoys having a bash on her drums and racing go-karts. Health is a big part of her life, and you can read her articles on wellness in various newspapers and health magazines.

LUKE JOBSON
Journalist & Newsreader Cruise1323

Luke graduated from the Australian Film, Televison and Radio School in 1999 and started his radio career in Port Macquarie. He spent six years at SAFM before joining the Australian Radio Network in 2006.

He's committed to reducing his carbon footprint by riding his pushbike to work every day and taking very short showers. If he's not cycling along bike paths around the city, he's in the kitchen baking biscuits for the newsroom.

 

EMILY HOSKINS
News Director

Emily started working in radio 10 years ago and has been in a state of jetlag, thanks to breakfast hours, ever since. Although she says it’s a great time of the day to work, and she loves being on board when big news stories break!

When she’s not walking around with bags under her eyes, Emily loves travelling and spending time with family and friends. Her lifetime goal is to set foot on every continent.

 

NATHAN GARDINER
Journalist & Weekend Newsreader Cruise1323

Nathan Gardiner thought he'd probably be a teacher for the rest of his life.  But, after volunteering as a newsreader on community radio in Melbourne for almost a year, he thought this could be the change he was looking for.  Nathan's been given a chance to prove his talents, by becoming a part of the newsteam.

Originally from Sale in country Victoria, he's worked as a primary teacher, a taxi driver in Melbourne, a bartender, a labourer, a lifeguard, struggling muso and even worked in Jamaica!  When not reading the news, you'll find Nathan scouring the coast for a surf, watching the AFL or playing on his various musical instruments.

 

JAMES ROYCE
Journalist & Newsreader Cruise1323

James has spent the past five years slogging it out as a print and radio journalist, after graduating from Perth's Murdoch University in 2002.

Having grown up in Bunbury, James spent six years in Perth studying and running the news department at youth station Groove 101.7, before heading to Port Hedland and then Busselton to work in print.
