Woman In Court With Trying To Scam $1,000 Out Of Couple
The grieving parents who lost their terminally-ill daughter have sat in a Melbourne court and looked at a woman who is accused of trying to scam $1,000 from them.
A phone containing images of their daughter Amiya was stolen from Jay & Dee Windross at Chadstone shopping centre just days before their 11-month old passed away.
However, Siti Kamal, 24, claimed she had the phone but has now been accused of lying in an attempt to extort the family.
The Malaysian national, an UberEats delivery driver, appeared at Ringwood Magistrates Court on Monday and cried in the dock.
She was denied bail as her flight risk was deemed ‘significant.’
