Outrage As Photos Surface Of Port Fan Wearing Nazi Swastika
A photo of a Port Adelaide fan sporting a Nazi swastika alongside his guernsey have surfaced online, prompting the AFL to flag the incident with the club.
The Advertiser reported the AFL has spoken with the club about two photos which were posted on Twitter. One shows the fan wearing the club’s away jumper as he sits alongside his bike on the bus, while the other shows the man donning a home jumper.
One social media user claimed the photos were taken in Melbourne over the Easter long weekend. The club are appealing for anyone who might know the man to get in touch with the club.
“Port Adelaide is disturbed by the image and does not condone the action of the individual. It is strictly against our supporter code of conduct,” he said. “If anyone can identify the person please advise the club,” said Port Adelaide’s general manager of member services, Matthew Richardson.
The latest controversy comes after racist comments were directed at Crows forward Eddie Betts and Port star Patty Ryder during the latest Showdown at Adelaide Oval.
