Uber App Experiencing World Wide Outage
Popular ride share app Uber is currently experiencing issues around the world with reports that the program is currently down in places like Australia, Europe, Canada and the US.
It’s being reported that both users and drivers on the app are affected with people unable to book cars and drivers unable to secure trips.
An Uber outage report shows that in Australia alone there are reports of issues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth with users reporting issues accessing the mobile app.
While the main issue is with people unable to book rides or use similar apps like Uber Eats, some passengers have also complained of being charged for rides that they did not take.
I’ve requested an Uber 6 times and I’ve been charged 7.50, 7.50, 7.0 and 6.50 for all the CANCELLED UBERS which was cancelled by the APP. Refund me immediately this is not cool, there isn’t even an option to dispute this for some dumb reason. Unhappy customer @Uber_Support— Claaaaaire (@claireyyham) December 11, 2018
There are some complaints also coming in from South America, New Zealand and India.
Uber has taken to Twitter to apologise for the issue and to reassure users that their team is working to get the program back up and running as soon as possible.
We're sorry for the trouble. Our team is looking in this and working to resolve ASAP.— Uber Support (@Uber_Support) December 10, 2018
It’s reported that android phone users are the most affected, however, there are also reports of issues with iPhones.
“We appreciate your patience,” wrote Uber’s support team on Twitter.
More as we get it.
