Woman stabbed and body found in Murray Bridge
The body of a man has been located at the Mount Bold reservoir following the investigation into a serious assault at Murray Bridge earlier on anzac day.
Just before 12pm on Thursday 25 April, patrols and paramedics were called to Rocky Gully Road after a woman had been stabbed by a man known to her.
The 24-year-old victim was initially taken to Murray Bridge Hospital before being airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre. She remains in a serious but stable condition.
The suspect, a 49-year-old man from Murray Bridge, left prior to police arrival in a black Nissan Navara utility which was later located abandoned at Mt Bold. Police conducted a search of the area, and with the assistance of divers from SA Police Water Operations Unit, located the body of the suspect in the water.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
