It’s official – Hey Hey It’s Saturday is returning to our screens for a 50th anniversary special.

Host Daryl Somers took to social media, canvassing fans for suggestions on what segments the public would like to see to “celebrate” the 50th anniversary of the show.

According to the Herald Sun, Somers has already started filming segments.

Previously, the publication reported that Nine would not be airing the program.

“Nine says it’s not airing Hey Hey’s 50th celebration show, with TV sources saying it may find a home at Seven, where Somers hosts Dancing With The Stars,” the publication reported.

TV Blackbox has confirmed the news, with contributor Aaron Ryan revealing that the television special will be airing on the Seven Network.
