Heavy rain overnight has seen Adelaide record its wettest April in over 20 years, with more rain still on the way today.

Adelaide has recorded around 92mm of rain so far this month, with hail and possible thunderstorms predicted through the day.

The last time we had more rain at this time of year was April 1998, when the city saw over 105mm in the month.

2020 has, so far, been an above average year for Adelaide in terms of rainfall, with the city recording over 150mm already, the average at this time of year is around 108mm.

The news won’t surprise anybody who has ventured outside of the house at some point in the past 24 hours, with a cooler-than-usual cold snap bringing a maximum of just 15C today.

Yesterday, the SES received 74 calls for help with many related to flooding and felled trees from the weather.
