Dog owners in Adelaide’s south are concerned that their dogs are being baited after suspicious pieces of meat were found along a walking track.
9News reports that at least 16 pieces of meat have been found along the Esplanade at Port Noarlunga South, a walking track frequented by residents taking dogs for walks.
Some of the pieces of meat reportedly had what appeared to be fishing line entangled in them, with one embedded with a small hook.
The Onkaparinga Council is warning pet owners to keep their dogs on leads in the area and to keep them away from suspicious meat and food scraps.
Rangers are also now door-knocking in the area in an attempt to find any available CCTV footage of the area that may help.
