What did we do without emojis? How did we get away with sending slightly risky messages or really ramp up a passive-aggressive tone?
Life was certainly harder, that’s for sure.
And now we’re so attached to our beefed-up emoticons that we pay very close attention when they change – or at least Thomas Baekdal does.
The founder of Baekdal Media Tweeted out a side-by-side comparison of Google’s new burger emoji and Apple’s version and questioned why the former had placed the cheese slice under the burger.
I think we need to have a discussion about how Google’s burger emoji is placing the cheese underneath the burger, while Apple puts it on top pic.twitter.com/PgXmCkY3Yc

Thus, in less than 140 characters, Baekdal kicked off “World War III”.
“Monsters. All of them,” one user wrote while another agreed: “Cheese on top so it melts down over the burger.”
A third, obviously Australian commenter piped in with a very important point.
“Aren’t we forgetting the beetroot?” he asked.
Baekdal’s original post has since been retweeted more than 20,000 times and even caught the attention of Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai, who declared that he would “drop everything” to remedy the issue.
Will drop everything else we are doing and address on Monday:) if folks can agree on the correct way to do this! https://t.co/dXRuZnX1Ag

So can we all agree? What is the correct way to stack a burger?
