South Australia Police will ease their restrictions on the trade of wineries and breweries, which will allow them to sell food and drink on a takeaway basis.
The news comes after Adelaide Hills microbrewery Prancing Pony was told be police that it would need to close its doors in-line with COVID-19 trading restrictions.
The updated direction will now align restrictions on cellar doors, wineries, breweries and distilleries with those currently in place for hotels, restaurants and similar businesses.
Tastings will still not be permitted under the change of rules.
The new direction is already in-effect and could allow wineries around the state to reopen their doors to takeaway customers.
