10 South Australians have been handed $1,000 fines for breaching self-quarantine orders over the Easter break.

SAPOL reportedly checked in on over 600 people who were supposed to be staying at home across the four-day weekend.

10 of those were given fines, while seven were issued with cautions for flouting the self-quarantine orders.

Police Commissioner Grant Stevens told 7News that fines were only issued for the most flagrant breaches of the rules.

“For someone to receive an expiation notice means that their disregard for their obligations is significant,” Commissioner Stevens said.

So far, 36 people have been given fines for coronavirus-related transgressions in SA.

However, despite the news, SAPOL say that they are pleased with the behaviour of South Aussies over the long weekend.
