Local supermarket chain Foodland will move into the Coles store at Arndale Shopping Centre when it closes at the end of May.
Romeo’s Retail Group will open the new supermarket on June 4, just four days after Coles leaves.
A statement from Romeo’s Retail Group said they were pleased to move the market away from a corporate multinational brand over to a family-owned South Australian Foodland.
A Coles spokeswoman said the supermarket giant was closing its Kilkenny outlet to “deliver the best shopping experience for our customers”.
Romeo’s Retail Group owns 27 Foodland and IGA stores in South Australia, as well as 13 supermarkets in New South Wales.
