Good news stories this year have been few and far between, but we might just have some of Adelaide’s best news for 2020 to share with you.
Friends! The Musical Parody was originally scheduled to tour the country from this August, but COVID-19 lockdowns and social distancing restrictions led to those behind the show going back to the drawing board with their schedule.
Performances were originally slotted for the Festival Centre’s Dunstan Playhouse, but will now play in the newly-revamped Her Majesty’s Theatre.
The musical is a loving piss-take of our most-loved TV show, featuring Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe and Monica.
It’s the first big show to be announced for Her Majesty’s Theatre, which was unveiled last month after a complete rebuild of almost everything but the building’s façade.
The musical is said to be, basically, a series of skits that borrow from the show’s situations, poking fun at some of the quirky little foibles about our favourite sitcom…like how everyone in the apartment eats dinner together every night like a family (anyone else find that weird?)
