Coles has confirmed that they will be closing their Arndale supermarket on May 31.
The supermarket has told The Advertiser that the decision to close down the Kilkenny store had been made last year and is not connected to the coronavirus pandemic or economic climate.
Staff currently employed at the Arndale store have been offered ongoing employment at other Coles stores.
The news comes after the supermarket’s major shareholder Wesfarmers announced that they will be closing down Target’s Pasadena store along with other outlets by the end of the month.
The closest Coles stores following Arndale’s closure will be St Clair Village, Welland Plaza and the Churchill Centre.
