SA Health has given the green light for the music festival being held at Glenelg Beach on Sunday. But there’s a slight catch…you need to bring your own chair.

The SummerSalt Music Festival will see big-name artists such as Missy Higgins, John Butler, The Cat Empire, Boy and Bear, Montaigne, and Emily Wurramara.

SA Health approved the festivals go-ahead on Thursday with multiple restrictions in place including every attendee having to bring a ‘normal’ sized outdoor chair.

So no, you can’t bring the kitchen table chair.

No low-backed chairs fold-up chairs, stools, lazyboy style chairs or picnic blankets will be permitted nor will be sharing the of chairs. You can only leave your chair to go buy food and beverages, go to the toilet or get first aid.

SummerSalt have said on their Facebook page that “We thank the SA Government for all their help and assistance in working with us to create a way in which this event can go ahead.”

“Yes there will be some changes (patrons must bring their own seat, etc) however this is in order to comply with SA Health to make this a completely COVID safe event.”

The festival has been travelling the seaside of the country in the most picturesque and iconic locations. Bringing live music outdoors that exemplifies the great Aussie outdoor summer, the one-day festival will provide a truly unique scene.

The festival will be split into three ‘zones’ with separated ‘blocks’ within them. Attendees will be given wrist bands that identify where they will be seated.
