The State Government is set to slash water bills for households and businesses across the state.

However, the exact amount of the reduction in water bills is yet to be confirmed.

The news comes following recent price rises for SA households’ Emergency Services Levy and car registration.

State Treasurer Rob Lucas has told The Advertiser that although he would not speculate on the level of savings, they would “swamp” recent price rises.

The average household water bill in South Australia was $782 in 2017-18, the changes will come into effect from July 1 this year.
