Let’s face it, us Adelaideans aren’t great at leaving the house in the winter months. Pretty much as soon as Mad March is over, we’re back on to the couch for endless Netflix sessions.

Well, Adelaide Botanic Garden might just have the best cure for our collective Adelaide winter malaise.

They’re launching a new program of nighttime events called Botanica Lumina, which will take place over autumn and winter.

The events are described as a series of curated events for the cooler months. We’re talking live music, art installations, film screenings, tours, science events and botanically-inspired food tastings!

And because the gardens are the real showpiece, they’ll be illuminated with environmentally sustainable lights to make the perfect backdrop.

It all kicks off tonight as part of the Adelaide Festival with Fire Gardens, which runs through until Sunday.

You can see the full program for the series here.
