The threat from a grassfire that moved quickly through the state’s south-east has eased with homes in Lucindale largely believed to be safe from the blaze for now.
Firefighters are continuing to fight the fire, which is said to have burnt to the fringes of Lucindale on Monday.
Thousands of people in the area were left without power this morning.
There have been reports that one home, along with a church or school and a store have been lost in the fires.
No lives have been lost, with the CFS now reporting that there is no imminent risk to life or property as conditions become more favourable.
An advice message is currently active for those in the area, with residents being told to stay alert and monitor conditions.
