The AFL has announced the 2020 season will be suspended on the completion of Round 1 until May 31.

The AFLW competition has now ended and no premier will be crowned.

It follows decisions in Western Australia & South Australia to shut their borders, which will mean players would need to self-isolate when travelling interstate.

New South Wales and Victoria have taken the next step, which is a lockdown of all non-essential services.

A statement is expected shortly.
