Adelaide Crow midfielder Brad Crouch has told St Kilda that he wants be a Saint from next year.

The future of the restricted free agent had been the point of much speculation all year, having previously been linked to Geelong.

However, news of the Cats pursuing Giants forward Jeremy Cameron all but confirmed that Crouch would not be joining former Crow Patrick Dangerfield.

The 26-year-old had reportedly been asking for a five-year contract, however, interest is said to have waned when he was caught with an illegal substance last month.

Under the rules of restricted free agency, Adelaide have the right to match any offer put on the table by St Kilda before he is able to walk.

If the Crows choose not to match the Saints’ offer, they would be given compensation by the AFL, which could be in the form of pick 2 in this year’s AFL draft.

The Victorian first debuted for the Crows in 2013, going on to win the club’s Best & Fairest in 2019.
