On a scale of 1-to-Adelaide-smashing-Carlton-in-the-first-game-of-Gather-Round-2023 just how excited are you for Gather Round this weekend?

We’re not sure anybody predicted last year’s inaugural Gather Round to be such a massive success, but you can feel the buzz already for this year’s Footy Fest.

And even if you’re not heading along to a game (because literally every game sold out pretty much immediately) there is a bunch of free activities popping up around the city from this Thursday for you to take the kids along to.

So if you haven’t planned your weekend yet, here are just some of the free events…

Macca’s Footy Festival

Elder Park will be taken over again by the Macca’s Footy Festival. The free festivities kick off this Thursday and run through until Sunday and will be chockas with activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Expect to see local food trucks and vendors as well as bars for the grown-ups.

There is also the famed Zip Line across the Torrens, but as of Tuesday 2nd April, it’s completely booked up! So, who knows, maybe you can throw some cash at someone that has already booked in if you want to experience this yourself!

The 2024 Macca’s Footy Festival runs from Thursday April 4th – Sunday April 7th in Elder Park, entry is free.

Gather Live

We’re also being treated to some FREE live music as part of the round with Aussie rock royalty JET performing, supported by Baker Boy.

And just in case that level of talent isn’t enough to get you through the doors, Adelaide’s Josh Rachele and Port’s Aliir Aliir will be throwing a special DJ set.

The show takes place on Sunday night after the Collingwood vs. Hawthorn match outside Adelaide Oval, rounding out the showcase round.

Gather Live is free, however, you’ll need to book tickets via Ticketek here.

You can see Gather Live with JET and Baker Boy on Adelaide Oval 2 from 7:30pm on Sunday April 7th.

The Pepsi Collective

The AFL has also announced that they’re serving up something for the adults this Gather Round with the launch of the new Pepsi Collective venue.

The Presets are headlining a roster of DJs who will be spinning tunes across the four days in Adelaide Oval’s Magarey Room. Doors will be open before during and after the footy games at Adelaide Oval.

You’ll need to buy tickets to get in, but the bar has an amazing view of the city (and also gives you some pretty good seats in Level 3 of the Riverbank stand). With most of the tickets sold out to the Adelaide Oval games, this might be your best bet to getting in the ground.

Tickets into the venue are available via Ticketek, simply select “Pepsi Collective” when selecting tickets.
